It is an Italian Queen with recessive genes that makes her a reddish color. The reddish color can come in many different shades.

We prefer Italian Queens for three reasons:
1. We like their gentleness.
2. We like their fast brood build up for large colony populations in almond pollination.

4. Where are you located?
We are located in the foothills of Northern California on the east side of the Mendocino National Forest. Our third family generation ranch, just outside of Stonyford, is less than a mile from the forest. This provides ideal isolated mating yards for our queens.

5. How do you ship your Queens?
We use UPS Next Day Air for most orders as this provides the fastest delivery time possible. We will also use the US Postal Service for smaller West Coast orders only.

6. What is your packaging method for Queens?
We use queen shipping battery boxes with attendant bees, queen candy and water. We ensure the longevity of the water supply by inserting a presoaked, chemical-free sponge into the shipping box. We ship queens in California mini cages with introduction sugar tubes already in the cages. You can also request corks for your order. Small orders are shipped in a 3-hole cage with queen candy.

We follow the international Queen color code listed below. The numbers represent the last digit of the given year. For example, Queens raised in the years 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015 will all be marked blue.
